Card: Thanksgiving Turkey with Day Of Thanks

I cannot tell you how intimidated I was by this Turkey! I am really uncomfortable when it comes to coloring images of animals – or things that I feel need to resemble the real thing. Like the Fish in the Best Catch stamp set! I am just too literal! I feel like I have to color things like that “exactly” as they are. Ugh. I make myself crazy, LOL.

Initially, this card was meant for my #loveitchopit Club. The Turkey was just going to be stamped in the Early Espresso, no coloring, just a stamped Turkey. Then I got this idea in my head to bring in some of the Pretty Peacock. The next thing I knew, I had this colorful Turkey.

What do you think? Does he “need” to be colored accurately? Is it “OK” to not have him colored to look as he would strutting his stuff in my yard? You tell me. Let’s talk “Turkey” with your comments below 😉

Cards: Rooted In Nature Thinking Of You

Rooted In Nature Thinking Of You: Masculine or Gender Neutral? You decide.

Today’s cards were inspired by a card I found while suffering insomnia, LOL. I would love to give credit where credit were due… if only I could remember where I found it… sigh. Anyway, I used a piece of retired 6″x6″ dsp (from the Wood Textures pack) – thus the three cards as the strips are 2″ wide so I could cut 3 cards worth from one piece.

My suggestion for swapping in current papers would be to use the woodgrain piece from Pressed Petals or use a piece of Crumb Cake, Pretty Peacock, or even Early Espresso Card Stock and emboss with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. Maybe even use the Crumb Cake and apply some ink directly onto the embossing folder before embossing – give it more oomph 😉

Wow, is it acceptable to be in love with your own creation?

This is card number 3 from the stack of cards I created for my #loveitchopit Club. It was too easy to design a whole stack of unique cards using one card layout as a “sketch”. My #loveitchopit Club receives card tutorials, for cards such as these, every month. Contact Me for details on my Club – membership is always open to new members.
